AXIL XCOR PRO

These earbuds are a great addition to my PPE for the range. We have all struggled with ear protection at some point in our lives. I have been shooting basically my whole life and have tried almost everything in the hearing protection shooting world. Standard ear plugs, 3M earplugs provided by the US ARMY, non electronic ear muffs, electronic ear muffs, they all have there place or do they? I kept seeing adds on Facebook and other sites advertising they AXIL XCOR Pro ear buds and I decided to give them a go.

First lets talk about the old stuff, ear plugs/3M earplugs they are the better than nothing side of hearing protection but do have a few benefits over ear muffs, most don’t wear them properly so they can either not provide the rated protection or can fall out, one thing that’s good about them is they don’t interfere with other PPE like eye pro and you can get a good cheek weld on your rifle.

Ear Plugs can have a rating between 15 and 30 decibels. Non Electronic earmuffs, these are a bit better than ear plugs in my opinion, the do have there down falls though for instance when giving instructions on the range you may need to take them off and in doing that you may have forgot to put them back on before the next rounds fired now the ears are ringing, they are usually sweaty after an hour or so, and they are bulky and interfere with other PPE and proper sight alignment.

Electronic Ear muffs are far superior to these first two options, Walker Razors have been a go to for me about the last 5 years, the benefits include integrated sound enhancement to give you control of the volume around you no more taking them off to hear your buddy or instructor. They are still a bit bulky and interfere with eye pro, they need batteries for the hearing enhancement to work. They also have an available Walkie Talkie that can attach to them which is a cool feature if you hunting with a friends.

Okay let get to the unboxing and features of these AXIL XCOR Pro ear buds.

These come with 3 different size of tips for your ear size and what your using them for shooting they recommend the General Foam, and it comes with Silicone for general purposes.

As far as start up and operation I am not going to get into that here I will have a follow up video on our YouTube that will cover that.

So I have had time to get on range and test these out, one of my favorite thing about these XCOR PRO buds is that they have Bluetooth capability while still giving great hearing protection. Now I can take calls, listen to music, and have the hearing protection I need when I am on the range. Another great thing about these is the hearing enhancement is not mono like the Walker Razors, it is more of a stereo enhancement so that really makes a difference to me.

Most of my range times are anywhere from 2-4hrs and I have not had these die on my yet, at first I tried the medium foam and they were a bit large for my ear canals so I switched to the small foam and they fit much better. As far as hearing protection they work great for me they don’t fall out when I am running and moving on the range, they are not in the way of my eye pro, and don’t interfere with my rifle position. I would 100% recommend these to other shooters, as of writing this they have these 50% off on their website so 149.99.

  1. AXIL XCOR PRO: Excellent sound quality, great sound suppression, good battery life, Bluetooth, Cost 149.99.

  2. Walker Razors: Great sound suppression, good hearing enhancement, bulky/sweaty on long or hot range days, Cost 60.

  3. Standard Ear Muffs: Good hearing protection, no enhancement, no batteries Cost varies on brand and rating.

  4. Ear Plugs: Would only recommend if you don’t shoot often, Cost varies on brand and rating.
